The Key to Affiliate Marketing Success - Recurring Revenue Services

By Neil Anuskiewicz

Why Affiliate Marketing is Important

Affiliate marketing started in 1998. The premise was very simple: there are e-commerce Websites that need visitors through various channels. Other Websites are a possible channel for making sales but you are only going to put a link on your Website if you earn a commission.

If you have affiliate links on your Website and a prospective buyer clicks one and buys, then you get a commission. The e-commerce site links the sale to the link on your Website through a unique offer code that is embedded in your link.

There are basically two kinds of products and services out there: those that customers have to re-purchase (e.g., books) and those that provide recurring revenue. A couple of examples of recurring revenue services are Web hosting and email marketing services. The thing that recurring revenue services have in common is that the customer does not, barring a problem with the service, make the buying decision over-and-over again each time they need the service. If they are happy with the service, they keep paying for it every single month.

Why is Recurring Revenue Better for Affiliate Marketers?

With a monthly recurring revenue service, you sell a customer the service once and they pay every month until they cancel the service. If you are part of a good affiliate programs with companies that sell high-quality recurring revenue services, you can earn commission from that customer's buying decision for months or even years after the initial sale. As you bring in more business through your affiliate link, your monthly commissions grow. Over time the recurring commission can add up to a significant income stream.

If you are an affiliate for a Web site that sells a product like books, you get a commission every time someone clicks on your Website and buys a book from the company for which you are an affiliate. The problem is that you have to rely on people coming every month to buy books through your link and you have little opportunity to earn monthly, recurring revenue from the same customers. You have to rely on making a lot of sales through your affiliate link every month to keep the income flowing.

Use and Promote the Services

There is a saying in business that you should always use your own product or service. Someone who works at Ford probably does not drive into the parking lot at work in a Toyota and vice-a-versa. Using your own product or service is a vote of confidence. The same logic applies to those services for which you are an affiliate. Using the services you promote through your affiliate links is both a vote of confidence in the services and can provide powerful outlets to promote the product. This is especially true if the service you are promoting is a marketing service.

For example, if you are an affiliate of an Email Service Provider (ESP) you could actively use the service for your own email marketing needs, and include a link at the bottom of every email you send out promoting the service through your affiliate link. If one of your subscribers gets an attractive email newsletter or promotion they may be compelled to click on the affiliate link and sign up for the service. Those purchases can add greatly to your recurring revenue stream.

Wealthy Affiliate University Review - Can WA Work For You?

By John T Jones, Ph.D.

This article is a Wealthy Affiliate University Review. I joined Wealthy Affiliate University in late May of 1008. In the little over three months I have been a member, I am still learning the ropes. WA is a very comprehensive site and it is constantly being updated. There is much to learn.

Wealthy Affiliate is a training site and a community of like-minded individuals. Some are hard-nosed Internet marketers and other seem to enjoy the community. Training takes place in the following ways:

1. 8-week Lesson Plan: Eight lessons are provided one each week and no faster. The lessons ask the student to do certain money-making task. I have learned that I have to go back over the lessons fairly often to dig out the fine points. The lessons are focused and comprehensive.

2. Learning Center: Teaching tools such as guides and tutorials are given here under beginner, intermediate and senior marketer. They are very comprehensive and cover many areas of Internet marketing.

3. Research Center: Tools needed for keyword and product research including the evaluation of competitors.

4. Marketing Center: PPC and affiliate networks and keyword lists.

5. Website Center: Web-site builder, templates and feeder sites.

6. Forums: This is where much important information is shared between members. Forum or private messages are passed back and forth. One user said that there are many money-making ideas on the forums not readily available else where, which I have found to be correct.

7. Share Zone: I have written a dozen or so tutorials in this zone for the use of members. It is a great teaching and resource tool. Some of the tutorials are not fancy but most give valuable information. I've learned to read them whether the writer is polished or not. These are marketers and I've know for a long time that good writing is not always as profitable as prolific writing.

8. Spaces: This is where we welcome new members, help other members or just relax, enjoying the community. New members are always welcomed not only by the owners but by a number of members. I try to welcome and help as many as I can.

The WA site keeps the members informed as to what is going on at ClickBank®, new products, accelerating and declining products, top products, etc. They are also informed on what is going on with members who are promoting the affiliate programs. There are many other features, such as marketing trends, jobs available, affiliate earnings, etc, on the front page.

Beginner or expert, this is the best community on the Internet, but the real reason for joining is the expert advice you get from one of the two owners. They are very hard-working and I always get an answer to my questions within a day or two. I also learn what I am doing wrong because these guys, Kyle or Carson, look at what you are doing. They have made me change my sites for better sales. They have looked at my articles. I am continually learning the tricks of the trade.

If you are serious about Internet marketing and are ready and willing to work, then join WA for a full year and stay in there.

How to Make Money Online - Become a Super Affiliate

By Sherman Choo

You might have heard the phrase there are affiliates, then there are "super affiliates". A super affiliate has the power to increase the business of a target market 100 fold. This is because super affiliates don't promote a service, event or product to just 1 or 2 persons. They contact 100s of 1000s of people of a new service and simply by playing the numbers game, they'll make a ton of cash just through their recommendation alone.

If you like to become a super affiliate there are a few ingredients that you'll want to have.

1. Database

This is a must have. Ship brokers or High performing insurance agents, real estate agents all have a database, whether it be a name list in their palm pilot, or Iphone. A database allows you to keep in touch with people that have a common interest or need. If you have a list of people who are interested in health food or detox products, they will be your customers for life as you service their needs.

2. Keeping in touch

Its important to keep in touch with your target audience. Unless of course you don't mind getting the occasional email asking "who is this". While we don't need to send an email everyday, just a casual email every 3 to 5 days, is enough to keep the channels open.

3. Collecting name cards and web traffic

The more names and emails you have, the more customers you'll gain. Some people ask for name cards, while others collect names and emails online. This is also called opt in list building. With a contact list, you will very easily be able to earn a very good income as an affiliate.

To your success! Sherman

The Secret to Affiliate Success

By Norma Schella

Ok, so your out there and your promoting an affiliate program. You have the affiliate link, and you've done a little PPC, Ezine Ads, a Few Sponsor Ads, Banners, etc., and your made a few sales. Great!.

But have you ever thought about the fact that once you've sold something to a customer, the owner of the affiliate program will continue to sell to them in the months to come all because you helped them get that customers details.

You see, when your promoting an affiliate program, Your actually helping the owner build his list. So each visit a prospect makes, (if they are required to fill out a form on a landing page), becomes another lead that the owner can now build a relationship with and market to.

How Do You Overcome This?

Well, the smart thing to do would be to build Your own website. Yes, I said you should build your own website.

Now you have two options here.

1 - You can build a whole website and sales letter explaining the product your are affiliated with, which will take a long time especially if you are not familiar with sales copy.

2- The smart thing to do would be to simply, create a landing page where the prospect is asked to Opt In. Meaning they are asked to enter their contact information before they can proceed to the affiliate website.

The 2nd way is recommended as you will have this person you're your list to build a relationship with and continue to market to over time.

So when joining an affiliate program, unless they provide you with a lead capture page where you get to keep the lead. I advise you to create your own lead capture page with an Opt In Form. This can easily be done with any html editor. A good free program you could use is call NVU. Just google it and you'll find the site where you can download it for FREE

This will increase your sales almost certainly.

Affiliate Marketing Facts and Tips

By Paul Barksdale

It truly amazes me how many people think that they can just sign up for an affiliate program and start cashing their checks. I guess it's not all their fault, with all the hype floating around in the air surrounding these programs.

So how are you supposed to make money as an affiliate?

What you should be looking for when joining an affiliate program...

First and foremost, you must get involved with a program you actually believe in. One that you are passionate about and are totally convinced that it will help people achieve whatever their goals may be when they join. If you jump on the band wagon of every new program that comes along, you will not only reduce your effectiveness you will also loose interest very quickly when you are not making money from it.

Most people trying to make money on-line tend to get in on a program based on all the hype surrounding it and really have no idea of what they want to accomplish by becoming a member. They just want to make tons of money like whoever is promoting it tells them they can, quit their day job and move to a secluded island and retire; which totally defeats the purpose of joining in the first place. Well, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but it simply doesn't work that way.

Do your due diligence before you join; no excuses here...

Before you join, you must do your homework and know who is running it, and if possible, who your sponsor will be. A good successful sponsor can be like money in the bank. Try to find someone with a proven track record and do what they do. Don't try to re-invent the wheel. It's almost imperative that you have a mentor, someone who really cares that you are a member and one that you can contact for help on a regular basis.

Don't be shy, email or call them, ask questions and pick their brain about how the program is working for them. And yes, ask them how much money they have made with it. While they may not be totally truthful, and you shouldn't expect them to reveal exact dollars and cents, at least you will get a feel for who they are and what their goals are for being involved with it.

Map out your road to success; this is an absolute must...

Trying to succeed today with affiliate Internet marketing for most people is like taking a trip they've never been on and not looking at a road map before they begin. All they see or seem to care about is how much money they can make. When you don't have a plan to follow you will go round and round in circles and end up back where you started. Which for most people is to jump on the next get rich quick, hyped up program they run across.

You must realize that all these programs you are joining are most likely written by expert copy writers whose sole job is to get you blinded and salivating over all the money that you think you're going to make when you join. What they fail to tell you, most of the time is, there's actually a lot of work involved before you start to make money. And this is where people get sided tracked a eventually loose their focus.

Take my advice when I say that a real legitimate money making program will take your time and effort to be successful. It's not all about joining up and thinking that the cash is going to start flowing in.

Conclusion
Find a program you believe in and disregard all the bells and whistles. Get to the guts of the actual reason it exists and then determine if it's something you can really believe in. If the only reason you are signing up in the first place is to get rich quick, then don't even bother. You're wasting your time.

Quit jumping on every program that comes along and find a legitimate one that you have done your homework on and can devote all your attention to for at least one year, minimum. Persistence and focus should be your key points. This gives you name recognition as well as brands you as someone who is serious.

Find out who your sponsor will be if at all possible. Ask them to be your mentor. If they don't response to your email or phone call within a reasonable length of time, move on to another one.

Plan your trip, and follow your plan. Set some goals and stick to them. Get serious with yourself, do some soul searching and find out if what you are getting involved with will really help others. One of your goals should be to get into a program that will allow you to really serve the members that will follow behind you and take into account that they were probably once where you were when you started. If you will implement the guidelines above when you consider becoming an affiliate marketer you will find yourself getting involved for all the right reasons and realize that it's not all about just making money. It's about what you are giving back that means even more.

Paul Barksdale recommends this program for raising funds, which he is actively involved with and is living proof that it really works. All the monies generated from this program go to the Autism Society of Alabama. You can find out more about Paul by visiting his personal blog
